Weather-related Information
BAD WEATHER
Northern Soccer is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable environment in which our children can play and learn the game of soccer.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature does not always adhere to our schedules. Bad weather, potential serious damage to the fields (and thus to the players) and other unforeseen circumstances could cause Northern Soccer officials to cancel or postpone games and practices. Because all of us have busy schedules, we are hesitant to cancel or postpone games and practices unless absolutely necessary. However, we will strive to make decisions early enough to allow you to adjust your plans as smoothly as possible.
Please check here for the latest game cancellation information. Your coaches will utilize direct e-mail notification as well when games and practices are postponed or canceled.
In certain instances, local communities may also close fields due to weather issues. This page will have links directly to those county departments. For Los Alamos fields, check the Los Alamos County web site for weather-related field closures: www.lac-nm.us; select "Parks and Recreation" from the top menu list; then select "Parks" from that menu; and then scroll down to the section titled "Field Conditions Update."
LIGHTNING SAFETY
Lightning is always an issue in northern New Mexico. Please be familiar with our lightning safety guidelines.
